About the Veterinary Technician of the Year Award
The purpose of the Veterinary Technician of the Year Award is to acknowledge one individual within the state of Virginia who exemplifies the professionalism, expertise, and compassion of a Licensed Veterinary Technician. This person has participated in upholding and improving the standards of professional practice and education, and has contributed to the profession's body of knowledge.
This individual has further shown a high degree of understanding and support for the attachment between people and their pets and has worked to prevent and relieve the suffering of animals with a strong sense of professional ethics. This individual's exemplary conduct not only upholds the honor and dignity of the veterinary profession, but also enlarges the profession's sphere of usefulness and promotes the science of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Technology.
